I was born and raised in Japan.
I majored in mathematics in college. After graduating I joined a technology company and worked as a system engineer for a few years.

However, I wanted to improve not only my client's systems but also the business plans and processes. I got a job for an American consulting firm in Tokyo. Since then, I've been engaged in a business consultation of financial institutions mainly.

A few years ago, I started thinking about working abroad and started improving my English speaking skills. Since I wanted to do it in a productive way, I taught people from other countries how to use common Japanese expressions through a language exchange app "Hello Talk" every single day, and while doing it I learned English from native speakers.

On the app, I introduced many common Japanese expressions that I wanted to say in English. Those Japanese expressions were expressed in various ways in English depending on the context. I gave the readers practical examples used in daily conversation so that they could get the nuance of the expressions and deepen their understanding. They often asked me about the grammatical points such as the difference between similar expressions and I answered with a variety of examples that can't be found in dictionaries.

Some readers suggested me to write books or a blog so I decided to share my knowledge after I brush up on my English. That's why I started a blog here. I'll share new examples that fit news and current trends too.

Now, I'm thinking of getting a certification to become a Japanese teacher!
